This is a painting from a photograph of Max taken at his favorite vacation spot, Ocracoke, North Carolina.

A 5x5 square format is best for this composition, but I ship it with 5x7 envelopes to avoid the extra postage that is required for 5x5 envelopes.

Most of my work is in watercolor, but this particular painting seemed especially suited to my favorite medium, so I painted it using pastels.

Max was wearing bright red "Doggles" to protect his eyes from the sun and sand, but for this Heartfelt Impressions card, of course I changed them to heart-shaped glasses!
